while i am in basic agreement with your point (that Leica seem to be doing 
well and that the S1 may well be a successful product for them) i would
warn that using growth percentages can be very deceptive.

51% growth may represent an increase of 100 sales to 151 (!!) as easily as
1000 to 1510 or indeed 10,000 to 15,100.

without quoting the actual numbers the percentages can be very deceptive.
you make the point that Nikon and Canon show less growth in sales, yet
high growth is much easier to achieve when volumes are low.

i mention this because a friend, who was being persuasive about involving
the company i used to work for in a project, once quoted "we achieved a
200% increase in european sales last year". much later i discovered that
his company had sold 30 systems that year, as opposed to 10 the previous 
year :-))
