Christoph, thanks for you comments.  Regarding the Leica shutter, no
mechanical focal plane cloth shutter can have the precision of a quality
electronic focal plane shutter or even of a new mechanical metal 
focal plane shutter.  It simply is not possible for a shutter like than in the
M6 to be consistently precise across the shutter speeds.  One third of a stop
is not much and it is a credit to Leica than they be this precise.  

You might want to look at the test results in the 94 Popular Photograph test
of the M6.  While I don't think much of the analysis in this article, their
basic tests on functions like shutter speed are useful.  

It might be interesting to find out the experiences of other on the LUG with
regard to shutter speed accuracy.
