Subject: [Leica] Uncomfirmed Leica M7 Specs
From: pcb@iac.co.jp (Paul C. Brodek)

Hi All,

Begin Magazine's Sep. issue, on the stands in Japan today, has a 2pg
scoop on M7 specs. Begin is not a photo magazine, it's a monthly
guide to hot and trendy conumer goods---one of the monthly bibles of
consumerism in Japan. The source of the scoop/leak is totally
unattributed, and a very large photo of an "M7" is a Photoshop-altered
M6 (they do say in print it is an artist's rendering). So I am
skeptical, but can't resist posting it....

Specs/Speculations?:
Shutter: electronic vertical titanium focal plane, B-1/2000, "higher
X-synch" (synch speed not specified in article)
Metering: aperture-priority AE
=46inder: 0.85x magnification
Size/weight: 144x80x33; 800g (6mm longer/3mm higher than M6)
Other: body edges may be more squared than rounded; body covering will
bo ostrich, there is mention of an additional light-gathering window
above the lens related to the AE function and there is also something
about an additional light sensor or window near the frame selector
lever (Oka-sensei---help with all this kanji, please!!!)
