No, I haven't compared these lenses myself.  I was paraphrasing what I
had remembered Jeremy Kime saying in a mini-review of the Ricoh---he
actually said it was sharper at full aperture and less likely to
flare. =20

The lens in the GR-1 and the L-mount lens are supposed to be the same
design.  It would be interesting to hear if the L-mount Ricoh has the
fall-off you've seen in the GR-1 version.=20
