Since you don't give a price range... :-)

The two that get recommended a lot are the Ricoh GR1 and the
Minolta TC-1.  Other possibilities include one or more of the
Leica models and the Minox series, but I know very little about
either (except that the Minox is entirely manual).

I have a GR1, and recommend it enthusiastically.  It gives
reasonable control over the aperture, has a very solid
magnesium body, is small enough to slip into a shirt pocket,
and the lens is good enough to make very satisfactory
11x14 prints.  It's a fixed 28mm lens though, not a zoom,
and this may factor in to your decision.
