Christian,
I was going through a back issue of Stereophile Magazine (March 1998, page
13), and came across a wonderful letter written by a reader named David Del
Bourgo. He concluded it by stating:

"...I think it behooves us all to be constantly on the alert for the
one-upmanship that runs rampant where men and their toys are concerned. The
danger is not just that we will spend a lot of money foolishly, but that we
will lose the romance that impelled us in the first place."

Applied to Leica, I think it states my feelings perfectly: The only real
reason to bother is because it somehow gets you excited about getting out
there and creating great images! Anything else is just so much jewelry and
image marketing.

My 2 cents worth
Jeff
