Welcome to the LUG. You could certainly follow Ted's sage advice, but a
relatively cheap v/f option is to invest in a Russian Contax style turret
universal finder, which has individual lenses for each focal length.

I use one on my IIIf RD DA, and find the optics excellent and the framing
pretty accurate.
Don't go for the Leitz VIOOH universal finder - it's squinty and pretty
useless for composition at longer focal lengths.
