Eric is right about this. In fact, it is interesting to note that in its
fine print, Kodak reveals this. Kodak's published characteristic curves for
all three Tmax films -- 100, 400 and p3200 -- are based on D-76 development.

On a related note, those determined to use a developer named Tmax for their
Tmax films might be interested in trying Tmax RS. It seems to be a
substantively different developer. Kodak lists it as an alternative push
developer for Tmax in roll format. Interestingly, Kodak does not recommend
Tmax developer for TMX or TMY in sheet format. It suggests the RS variant
or HC-110.
