Subject: [Leica] Leica on motorcycle

Friends,

I am looking forward to meeting some of you at the LHSA Solms Photo
Shoot in April. I am thinking of riding my motorcycle to the event, as
the road from Brussels to Solms passes through some of my favourite
riding territory.

Of course, I want to bring at least a subset of my Leica outfit with me.
My question is how to transport it safely on a motorcycle. I know some
of you have experience with this. My motorcycle is a Suzuki GS500E, and
can best be described as buzzy, i.e. there is a fair amount of
vibration. It is this vibration that I worry about (loosened parts,
misaligned rangefinders are some of the dangers in the back of my mind).

I am thinking of putting the stuff in my Billingham Alice bag, wrapped
in a jacket or some other piece of clothing, and carried in my Givi
topcase or side case. Are there any other precautions I should take? I
would appreciate hearing from other LUGger-bikers.

Nathan
