Subject: [Leica] Gray Dot On Lens Case Bottoms

Does anyone know what the gray dot on the bottom of Leica lens cases is for?
I just bought an M6 and two lenses (35 Summicron-M and 90 Elmarit-M) and
this dot is a decal on the bottom of both cases.
