You might look for the GMP Leica grip.  I found a couple of those for $25 
apiece not too long ago.  The grip part comes off with two little setscrews 
and then it's just a nice, flat tripod-centering plate.  You can always 
attach a standard Kirk or RRS arcaswiss-style plate to it if you need one.  
Mounting a Leica M on a B1 ballhead or the like seems a bit of overkill, 
though : )
