Do you think that's what would happen if someone were to suddenly grab onto a 
couple hundred pounds while travelling at speed on a motor scooter?   The 
wearer of the bag (unless a very small woman or a child) might be knocked off 
his feet and perhaps suffer a bruise or two, but the thief's arm would 
certainly be torn out at the shoulder.  Which would be the least of his 
injuries if the bag he grabbed was mine.
