I have a scale that measures to 0.01 grams that I used to use to measure it
out. You have to be careful not to use too much amidol, or it may cause
the film to fog. You should use about 0.05 g of amidol per 500 mL of
working strength developer. I mix it up as follows: 500 mL of water, then
5 mL Part A PMK, then 10 mL Part B, mixing thoroughly after adding each,
then I add a "pinch" of amidol, mix, and start developing right away. I
have gotten so used to scooping out the amidol on a scoopula that I can
estimate 0.05 g pretty closely, at least closely enough for my purposes.
For better control, you should use an accurate balance to mass it out, but
I couldn't be bothered because if I get it fairly close that's OK with me.
