I hold the camera "down", i.e. VF at the top, shutter release at the
bottom..  I find this lets me keep both my elbows tucked in tight to
my body for support.  As a result it also seems less tiring when you
hold the camera like this for a while.  I'm right handed and right
eyed.

Either way works, it's just a matter of trying both enough to figure
out which you prefer.
