The F6 and so forth will no doubt have an even more sophisticated metering
system and more high-tech wizardry. It is clear that the M6 will never
compete if motor drives and flash photography are really your cup of tea.
But the point which we all occasionally lose sight of but which remains
nonetheless is that there are only three variables which go into making a
photograph:  1) shutter speed  2) aperture setting  3) focal selection.  No
matter how much marketing hyperbole comes down the pike, the fact remains
that in most situations, there is nothing that an F5 can do that an M6 can
when it comes down to making a picture.  Sure, the F5's computer brains
might make the decisions in 1/1000 the time that it takes me and it might
make the right decision more consistently, but I am into photography as a
hobby.  I spend the money on Leica equipment and go to all the trouble of
processing my own film because I consider the photographic process of
"getting there" to be half the fun.  If I didn't, I'd be using a drop-in
loading APS Elph and letting Kodak do all the work with the processing.
Hell, most people never know the difference....
