Other than that, though, this particular lens is very sharp and contrasty, and once I had replaced the four pissy screws that hold it together, it was fine again. In my opinion it's a better lens than the older Nikon 80-200 f2.8 that it replaced. Maybe the crack is to tighten everything up as soon as you get the lens home! Cheers Rod
