I am not French either, and I don't even live in France, but I have visited often enough and looked at enough issues of Chausseur d'Images or Réponses Photo to know that prices of Leica gear in France are much higher than in Belgium, the Netherlands or (especially) Germany. So if you are after something new, I would definitely check the German places like Foto Hobby first. I recently bought a new R8 at Foto Lambertin in Cologne for 2.997 DM (=1.537 EUR), a price well below even the new discounted prices in Belgium. Having said this, I also recently visited La Maison du Leica in Paris (Blvd. Beaumarchais, near Place Bastille). It is a true Mecca of second-hand Leica stuff, and some of the prices looked quite reasonable. So if you are after a used Leica and live near Paris, it may be worth it to pay a visit there.
