I am not French either, and I don't even live in France, but I have visited often enough and looked at enough issues of Chausseur d'Images or Réponses Photo to know that prices of Leica gear in France are much higher than in Belgium, the Netherlands or (especially) Germany. So if you are after something new, I would definitely check the German places like Foto Hobby first. I recently bought a new R8 at Foto Lambertin in Cologne for 2.997 DM (=1.537 EUR), a price well below even the new discounted prices in Belgium. Having said this, I also recently visited La Maison du Leica in Paris (Blvd. Beaumarchais, near Place Bastille). It is a true Mecca of second-hand Leica stuff, and some of the prices looked quite reasonable. So if you are after a used Leica and live near Paris, it may be worth it to pay a visit there. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Jo, As Nathan, I live in Belgium and agree with him. I think it's also interresting to consider seriously the market in Grand Duche de Luwembourg. They speak French and prices are the same as in Germany. For example M6 TTL is sold 104.000 BEF + 21% of taxes and discount is only a few percents in Belgium but it's only 95000 LUF all taxes included - no discount :). All the Leica gear (only new) is sold in the same conditions. You can call directly the importer (Carlo Lecuit) at (prefix +) 495607 . His shop doesn't look like a palace but is Leica kingdom however. Bernard bernard.degaute@village.uunet.be
