The later cameras have an improved meter which has more sensitivity in lower light. It is easy to discern between old and new meters by observing the behavior of the LED's in low light. The original M6 meter will not light the LED's in low or no light levels (inside your camera bag) whereas the newer M6's LED's will blink rapidly if the light level is below the metering threshold. This will kill your batteries real quick! Bill Rosauer
