Subject: Re: [Leica] B&W filters

There's not much advantage to staying in Leitz, because there are few filters
made in 39mm, and they are Heliopan and B+W. You might want to nab some
cheaper Series filters and a holder until you figure out which filter you
want to use. Orange is a good start for that - the K2 yellow might have been
good for ortho film, but it does next to nothing for modern films.

I have been doing a lot of experimentation with bringing clouds out, and a
lot of times, you can get away with underexposing and changing your
development. With a one-under and one-on exposure (bracketed) with pushed
film, you can usually get away with skipping a filter altogether. Clouds and
sky are both highlights, and you can also meter for the clouds and get the
same effect.

clouds. I noticed that Leica no longer shows their 3 B&W filters on their
WWW site. Are these still available, is there any benefit to staying with
Leica filters? If not, what other brands have the best glass (B+W?)?

Thanks,
