You KNOW it's loaded because the rewind crank will spin when you wind. As for actually loading it, LESS IS MORE. Don't try to do anything extra. Just drop the film in, place the leader in the claw (DON'T wind yet!), replace the bottom and NOW WIND. Again, just watch the rewind crank. It should spin within a couple of frames.
