Subject: Re: [Leica] What 90mm? Rapidwinder?

The current 90mm f2.8 is a wonderful lens but it is not significantly
smaller than the 90mm F2.0. I have handled the 90mm f2.0 APO and one could
only call it large in comparison to the old 90mm f2.8 tele-elmarit. So if
you need very small go with the tele-elmarit (slightly soft wide open and
close). If you want fantastic f2.0 go with the APO. If a largish, but
spectacular and inexpensive, f2.8 is it, go for the elmarit. I have never
heard of a single complaint with a rapidwinder and, if you use your left eye
for viewing, it is a must have.
