Subject: [Leica] Ebay -- fact or fiction!

I just visited e-bay for the first time in more than a month. I went away
shaking my cyber head. I saw a chrome 35/2 M about to go for more than
$1,500. This is an older 8 element version. Having used this rev in RF
mount for M3 I can say that there is nothing special about this lens. I
don't think it is especially rare either. Am I wrong? I think I'd rather
have a new 35/2 ASPH, or my late 35/2 non-ASPH. It just doesn't make sense.
This isn't the only thing that I found odd. Now I know why I never frequent
that site.

BTW, if anyone knows where I might find a used Noctilux, please let me
know. I'm beginning to think if I found one listed on ebay it would go for
more than the price of new. I'm in favor of both the Internet and
capitalism, but sometimes I wonder.
