lugfolk tall and short,

on a list with this many subscribers and their attendant personalities,
there is bound to be the occasional locking of horns, biting of backs,
calling of names, slapping of faces, insulting of ancestries, offending of
gods, treading on toes, tickling of feet, breaking of balls, paining of
hearts, getting of goats, ruffling of feathers, tipping of wagons, shaking
of branches, denting of fenders, geesing of ganders, pinching of babies,
etc.: that is to be expected. when it turns personal, that is be deplored.

let us not slip into a general round of overt personal nastiness here, for
that would be to risk an all-out flame war in which each one of us would be
telling each other one of us what a f****** a****** we know them to be. the
actions of some will always be the bane of others - let us allow those
actions to speak for themselves, and not add fuel to the fire by hurling
insults back and forth, to and fro, hither and yon; this will get us no
where but mad.

all right, no more enumeration. i promise.
