For the more adventurous, the lens can be had for 2617 DM (=$1204) at Brenner
Foto Versand in Germany, INCLUDING German VAT. If someone in the US (or anywhere
else outside the EU) buys it, the German VAT can be deducted, bringing the price
to $1038.
