Subject: [Leica] the strange story of week 33

so i'm sitting in my office minding my own business when someone pops in
and says "hey, do you want to go see al gore? i have an extra ticket, but
it's in the nose bleed section." i say "sure, i have nothing better to
do." so i grab my domke vest and my camera and a big long lens and wander
along to the venue and take my seat in the appropriate nosebleed section.
i'm not there five minutes when some guy from the gore camp grabs me by
the domke vest and says "hey, you know press isn't allowed here." and i
say "i'm not press. i'm a tourist." and the guy says "right. come with
me." and he tuggs me out by the vest and i follow him to a riser filled
with a bunch of photojournalists stairing at the floor and wishing they
were smoking cigarettes and he says "wait here." so i'm waiting there and
i hear someone yell "hey! kyle! kyle cassidy!" and i look over and there's
_nobody_ i recognize. then he says it again: "over here!" and it's this
guy with an r8 around his neck. he says: "i'm sal dimarco, i recognize you
from your web page." so we shake hands, he shows me his r8 and his r4 and
this monster canon lens with a leica bayonet mount he's using and we sit
around on the bench for a while playing with the pencils, gore comes out
and this tiny little woman from the gore camp comes up and says "okay, i'm
going to take you down into the photo pit now." so i tag along, she brings
us right up front, i shoot a roll of chromes, have a splendid time. take
the shots back to the lab, and discover I DOUBLE EXPOSED THE ROLL. yup.
i'd already shot that roll and for some stupid reason, rewinded it with
the leader still out and dropped it back in my camera bag. yup yup yup.
*smacks head* oddly enough, the _other_ thing i exposed on the roll was
president clinton about three months ago.

anyway, check out week 33.
