Subject: RE: [Leica] Vario-Elmar 80-200 focus problem

I had similar problem with my 35 summicron but the other way round ie if I
focus on something 3 meters away, the indicator would say infinity. So I
sent it back to my Leica dealer and after 4 months they sent me back the
lens perfectly aligned at the infinity mark when I focus at infinity.

In your case if it really annoys you that the focus ring does not indicate
the true distance, then send it back for focus alignement. Otherwise it
shouldn't matter.
