In the case of my IIIa the vulcanite was attached only around the eyelets
and I was able to bend it back in front and in back just enough to get the glue in.
However, if it hadn't been stuck to these last two areas I would have removed it.
It would have been a super delicate procedure thouigh. One thing I noticed is that
the vulcanite did shrink about 1.5mm. I assume it's just hard rubber right?
