When camping in the mountains, marmots cause a similar problem. They chew
the break lines and cables under the car. The only remedy is to wrap the
undercarriage with a canvas or sheet (sort of an upside down canopy) to foil
the furry beasts. Maybe a similar system can be used, wrap the entire
cabling group.
