In the past 2 week I've pondered
which is worse?
Putting a "flat" "clear" piece of glass over a huge gorgeous piece of glass
like the 110 Zeiss for Hasselblad or our Noctilux.
Or
in front of a small well protected compact flare resistant front element of a
pancake or macro lens.
Like Saran wrap over a bowl with a small about of jello at the bottom.

I think covering up the small glass with a huge flat one is "worse," but not by much.
