Subject: [Leica] Hood for 50/1.4 Nikkor

Thanks to everybody who replied. I think I'll go with Dante, Adrian and
Joseph's suggestion, since they have used a generic 43mm hood with this
lens. If I can find the Waltz or Hoya hood at some point, great. But
if the generic hood does not vignette but still provides adequate
stray-light shielding, that's probably the easiest and cheapest way to
deal with the issue. The ability to use a generic lens cap is a
bonus--taking the hood on and off as one changes lenses is a pain and a
time-waster.

The Nikon hood is decidedly conical. I read somewhere that it is
calculated to give maximum shielding without vignetting, but the price
it exacts in the viewfinder is too much on an M.
