You screw the LTM lens into the adaptor, and then mount the combination on
the M6 as if it were an M mount lens.

No. If you have a screw mount r/f coupled lens (like a Jupiter 85mm f2, for
example), then it stays r/f coupled when it's mounted on an M body via the
adaptor. However the 15mm Heliar isn't r/f coupled anyway, and no this
doesn't matter in practice.

loads of other places. I think I paid about £30 each for mine.
