Using it straight would mean not very sharp results although in sheet film I'd think that would not be that big of a deal sometimes sheet films need more sulfite to prevent aeration. (Air causing fog)* At higher dilutions Xtol would give a softer look than Rodinal gives becuae of the lack of grain insetad of the abundance of it. The sharpness is said to be the same.
