I have been experimenting with my new Epson 1270 and am very impressed. I
scanned an 8X10 RA-4 print I made from a 645 Reala 100 neg. I scanned it at
600 dpi without any corrections on my Microtek X6 flatbed. The 82 meg file
looked perfect in PS so I printed it as a 16X20 on 8X10 paper. The output
was excellent. Then I laid the print over an RA-4 Fujicolor 16X20 print from
the same neg. I am hard pressed to see any difference even close-up. Hanging
on the wall I doubt any difference could be seen. Now I wonder if there
would be significant improvement if I used a 1200 dpi flatbed? File size is
really getting up there, but 128 memory chips are cheap.
