My first enlarging lens was a used first generation Schneider 50/4. After
a few years I bought an APO Rodagon-N 50/2.8, but to be honest, I have
never been able to tell them apart. I like the Rodagon for its illuminated
scale, brighter image for focusing, and preset aperture click stops, but
image wise, the old Schneider is still an excellent lens (and beautifully
machined as well).

ps...ok, I don't delete ALL of the leica posts (an inside joke). ;-)
