I lived there for 5 years, and did extensive research during that time ;-) Here are some of my top choices, not ranked: Duvel Delirium Tremens Hoegarden Grand Cru Blanche de Namur (in summer only) Verboden Vrucht/Fruit Defendu and then the only real Trappist beers in the world: Westmalle Chimay Orval Westvleteren Rochefort La Trappe from Koningshoeven (this one is near Tilburg in the Netherlands, the only Trappist beer made outside Belgium) Some of these are exported, for example Leffe is commonly found abroad, and some of the others are sold in specialist shops. The Belgian equivalent of Budweiser, Stella Artois, is for some totally unknown reason quite popular in the UK. But for many of the other beers I listed, you will just have to get on the plane and go to Belgium. I now live about 700 km from Brussels, so occasionally we drive up there for the weekend and come back to Switzerland with a VERY heavy car... Cheers!
