But isn't production capacity one of Leica's biggest problems?
Selling a cheaper line (unless it was manufactured by an outside supplier) would simply be taking away from their more lucrative sales.

Besides, Leica tried this route with the RE and found that their customers would rather buy a "real" Leica as a demo/grey import than a "cheapened" Leica.

Bernard (who doesn't think that there is anything fundamentally wrong with Leica's business plan).
