One thing he said, which I think echoes what Ted has said, is that you may
use a lens once a year, but if you _need_ it for a shot it's money well
spent - this was in relation to his 75mm Summilux, I'd never seen one of
those before either, a heck of a 'serious' lens.

Very true. I remember once a champion bass fisherman
in answering to the question whether its his equipment
that allow him to catch so many bass. His reply, "Hell
no... no equipment can help me if there are no bass to
catch in the first place".
