Hi Julian:

Sorry, you are right, the split image circles sometimes black out with
long lenses.  I haven't noticed that it happens with the VE f4 80/200
zoom, but then again I've only shot a couple of rolls of film using that
lens.

It used to happen with my Nikon FAs all the time, so I did put a plain
screen in one of them for use with the long lenses.
