I picked up an Epson 2450 so I could scan my 6 X 6 negatives and slides
and it is just great! I generally scan MF at only 1200 dpi, but at 2400
dpi the MF negs and chromes come out really fine. 35mm stuff works great
too, but it is a flatbed with a transparency adapter built into the hood
so there is no provision for bulk scanning more than a couple strips of
35mm film (or a few mounted slides). I picked mine up brand new for a
whopping $340 + $25 shipping and I love it. The software is great, it
works with VueScan too, and I love the images I get from it. It will
also scan 4 X 5, btw. Shutterbug had an excellent review of it a month
or two ago.

Cheers!
