Subject: [Leica] Interpreting vs Composing
From: Afterswift@aol.com

But Leica and its user base (as the
LUG comments suggest) are very conservative and happy to stay with what
they have - even if there are improvements that could and should be made.

So I'd be reluctant to get into arguments that suggest control isn't
important. --Adam Bridge

How can we interpret a scene if we don't have the means to do it to the
ultimate degree possible. You get that with a fully adjustable first rate
instrument like the mechanical Ms. However, you can compose without
interpreting. That's done by photo-journalists all the time, as well as field
photographers like Bresson. And that form can be done with any decent camera.
We interpret with our minds through technique. We compose quickly with our
educated reflexes and a camera either preset or automatic to some degree.
Ladies and Gentlemen, make your choice. There is no stigma either way.
