Yes, if one hangs out one's shingle reading "Weddings R' Us," then wedding
photography is a service. I don't have such a shingle. I am not suggesting
that a photographer has a right to force his or her vision on a client. But
a photographer, writer, musician, architect, or any other person in a
creative field has an absolute right to say 'this is the kind of work I do.
If you like it, I'd be happy to do it for you. If you don't, I'm not the
person for you.'

Boy, and to think I was giggling most of the way through "The Fountain Head"
when it was on day before yesterday. Much more of this 'you're obligated to
give the public whatever kind of crap they want' talk and I'll have to join
the Ayn Rand Legion. ;-)

Wedding photography is a SERVICE that a photographer provides to whoever
hired him to do it. As an experienced photographer, one may make
suggestions
and add his experience and wisdom but in the end, the wishes of the bride
and
groom and whoever else is in charge should prevail. "My way or the highway"
prima donna attitude is for the artist, and wedding photography is not art,
it is a service.
