Sylvain,

This is most definitely not normal behaviour. I have an M6TTL, with which I
shoot about 50-70 rolls per year, and I change batteries only once a year, on
January 1st, just to be on the safe side. And I do not  ever put the dial in
the OFF position--I just make sure that the shutter is not cocked when I put
it in the bag.
