It is made from Cotton... it breathes. GoreTex would be considerably hotter. Domke also makes a removeable sleeve version in a jacket as well.. It is not as cool as it has a solid rather than open weave back. But it is equally nice to have in slightly cooler weather. Sizes run generously....
