Baptisms can be much less formal than a wedding, and many Catholic 
parishes are pretty informal these days.  It is a good idea to get ahold 
of somebody at the parish since there is a lot of variation.  Sometimes 
it takes place in the middle of mass, sometimes in a private ceremony 
afterwards.

As for flash, usually the whole family is wailing away with their 
point-and-shoots!
