For those of us into cars...

Great photo op this coming Saturday at Mt. Penn in Reading. It's the
annual Duryea Hill Climb (named for the Duryea automobile, which
received its road tests on the SAME TRACK).

The 52nd Duryea Hillclimb is that Sat. and Sunday, from City Park (13th
St.). Racing begins at 9 a.m. both days...and concludes at 4 p.m.
Included are formula cars, production, modified street, modified
showroom, pro rally, and vintage. Cars race one at a time up the hill,
against the clock, passing through 10 curves along 2.3 miles. Some hit
100 mph and complete the course in 2 min. Spectators are welcomed free
of charge; lots of good vantage points along the way. A field of 70
competitors is expected.

If any LUGgers want to get together for this, contact me off-list at
garcia@chesco.com and we'll arrange a post-car get-together.

Best,
Jim
