Subject: [Leica] Nathan's PAW 34: The cycling theme continues

On Sunday 18th August there was a major bicycle race in and around
Zurich, called the Zurich Metzgete, part of the cycling World Cup. Most
of the big names were there, including the Tour de France winner Lance
Armstrong and the Tour's king of the mountains, Laurent Jalabert--who
ended up giving up, an indication of how tough the 236 km course was. It
included a rather steep and long climb which the cyclists had to go up
five times. In the end, the race was won by an Italian guy who had the
wits to attack alone just before the top of the last climb and he rode
the last 17 km without any serious challenge from the main peleton.
Armstrong came in 3rd.

So, here are a couple of my feeble attempts at sports photography. I
chose the top of the longest climb as my vantage point, figuring that
the riders would be passing me relatively slowly, and also hoping for
some interesting facial expressions. Here are two guys who look rather
relaxed, considering that they have just ridden uphill for several km in
30+ degree heat:

Here, on the other hand, is a guy who is really suffering:

and finally, perhaps my favourite, a group of press photographers taking
a short break:

All three pictures taken with the M7 and 35mm Summilux ASPH on
Kodachrome 64.

and comments/critique are welcomed and appreciated as always.
