Thanks, Jim! Ted expressed similar sentiments to you, preferring alt2 
over the main pic. My son's doom and gloom on alt3 is a function of 
being tired, hungry (of course he did not like the food on the trip), 
and deprived of electronic entertainment for several days. On the other 
hand, I must say that as a 13-year old he gives us far less trouble than 
I gave my parents when I was his age.

Regarding the contrast, I wonder if my newly recalibrated monitor makes 
me post images that are too flat. It looks good here, and I have not 
changed my method; I scan relatively flat so as to capture as much 
detail as possible, and then adjust brightness and contrast in Photoshop 
using the Levels control--basically, I adjust brightness first, and then 
move the black and white sliders inwards until the image looks good to 
me. Of course, with an inherently high-contrast film like Delta 3200 I 
try to be careful not to overdo it, perhaps I was too careful this time.
