John, maybe I'm dense, but I don't understand why you'd want to do this?
What will you buy by shoehorning an M3's guts into an M2?

Tried to post this _twice_ earlier via my ISP's web
interface, but have not seen it, so here's hoping third
time's the charm.

I've got an unused (old parts) M2 shell that I'm wondering
if I can put (have someone put) my user M3 into. The M3 has
the PV lever, and the M2 shell was (I am pretty sure) for
the later lever rewind. There'd be no guard around the lens
release button, but I could live with that. Does anyone on
the list know whether this would/might/won't work?

Thanks for any learning
John Newell

(now watch the other two show up... %-) )
