Martin,

The virtual LUG tourist. I like it. I've got a bunch of pictures of Chicago.
More than enough to give someone a good feel for the city. Given enough time
I could put together a virtual tour of the city. Given more time I could
bore anyone to death. :-)

I always enjoy posts of life or architecture in other parts of the world.
Steve Unsworth's recent folio from Bruges was great viewing as are his
pictures from Paris. I always enjoy Graham's pictures of the English
countryside. Sonny's tours of Louisiana, Simon's views of Amsterdam, Daniel
Riding's views of Sweden, I could go on and on, but that's probably the most
entertaining aspect of the LUG, for me at least.

Putting together a project based on where we live and what one would like to
see if visiting would be very interesting. Didn't we do something regarding
our home, or was it what we did for a living? I don't remember. A travel
styled web site would be fun. I would love to hear any ideas on putting
something together. Austin might be able to give a bit of guidance he
certainly has lots of information about putting together such a project.

Sam

The latest thread between Animal (Simon) and Sam got me thinking.
Perhaps we should extend LUG interaction to encompass photographs too.
I, for example, would love to go to Melbourne, but seem unlikely to do
so in the near future. So, I was thinking that we could establish a
system where we exchange photographic memorabilia from virtual trips.
For example, someone in Melbourne might contact me and find out where
I'd like to go, then go there and take holiday snapshots. In return, I
could do the same for Santa Cruz.

With the advent and proliferation of the Internet and digital
photography (scanning Leica negatives or transparencies, of course!) it
seems like the next logical evolution in virtual life.
